Mosbolletjies

£3.75

Mosbolletjies are:

Small, soft, slightly sweet rolls

Made using grape must (called “mos” in Afrikaans — the juice from crushed grapes before fermentation)

Lightly spiced, often with aniseed

Typically enjoyed toasted with butter

They come from the Western Cape and have roots in Cape Dutch cooking traditions, where leftover grape juice from winemaking was used to help the dough rise naturally.

Taste & texture:

Fluffy and airy inside

Slightly sweet with a subtle licorice-like flavor (from aniseed)

Delicious warm or toasted
